This is one tired pixie reporting a very busy week.
This girl canned 30 pints of unsalted vegetable broth because of the new diet restrictions. Turned the 16 pounds of green tomatoes into salsa verde, chutney, and chow chow. Dried cherry tomatoes and sour leaf. Shared some of the roselle with some fabulous ladies at my nail shop and the rest went into jam. Today, my mother and I collected nine pounds of persimmons, which will become candy and frozen puree.
Today I whined to the hubby that I was exhausted. Then I ordered a bushel (30 pounds) of green beans and a bushel (50 pounds) of beets from Crow’s Market to pick up and can tomorrow. Why do we do this to ourselves?
