I love his philosophy. Drawing doesn't have to be about achieving a likeness. It can simply be about really seeing what is around you. Feeling grounded, mindful, in the moment. Enjoying the process, not worrying about the outcome. I encourage you to watch this and maybe give it a try. (You don't even have to let anyone else see it. 🤫)

When life gives you lemons, pour yourself a cuppa, and paint a picture of them!

Sunday morning .

I started with an acrylic painting, then added oil pastels over that, and some Neocolor 2 crayon. In hindsight, I wish I would've skipped the oil pastels and just used Neocolors. I do like the texture from the oil pastels, but I didn't get quite the look I was going for. That's why I love my sketchbooks though. They're a place to experiment. Some things work, some things don't. But even when I don't get the result I wanted, I learn something.
