I made this astrocyte with a piece of walnut, cutting out the shape and positioning it on a 2in thick oak base. I think it looks like a specter flying to the sky. Link to purchase in comments.

New version of the neuron humming bird. It is composed of 12 independent cells manually cut out of wood. This piece will be donated to https://facebook.com/events/s/brain-and-mental-health-art-sh/1264259378174551/ for an auction 🇨🇦. The back is bubinga wood. The humming bird is made out of walnut, padauk, maple (obviously 🍁) and cherry woods.

I just delivered 6 animals composed of a total of over 100 neurons to Cook Children's hospital in Fort Worth, TX. This commission has opened a new world of possibilities for me. We will see what life has in store for my woodworking hobby. ☺️

New Purkinje Neuron earrings. The left one was made with Padauk, the right one with Spanish cedar. Purkinje Cells are very intricate cells of the cerebellum which hosts the highest number of neurons in the brain!
