Some believe that cooking onions on a freshly seasoned griddle helps seal and harden the seasoning. Who am I to argue???? All I know is when I use this method, my seasoning seems better. Even if it doesn't help, I fill the air with cooked onion smell.....

I was invited to a fish fry at the Owasso Coldwell Banker office today.....and of course I didn't want to to go empty handed. I made my secret recipe baked beans. I like to add some breakfast sausage and some smoke when I cook them. I didn't get a chance to prepare my smoker, so I cheated a little. I used my propane grill and some wood chips on the side for just a little added flavor. And stuff ALWAYS tastes better when cooked in cast iron. Cindy Newman Jolley

Almost everyone loves a filet, but because they can cost a gazillion dollars, they can be cost prohibitive. Solution....learn to cook them at home. I did, and Cindy Newman Jolley LOVES them. I have fine tuned my method and seasoning and they are delicious. Add a side of griddled veggies and you have a complete meal. YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY.
When the weather gets warmer I will make a video so you can learn to cook a filet and enjoy them more often.
FYI....I bought these at our local meat market in Skiatook, Sausage Brothers.

GRILLED RIBS

Ok...all you keyboard commandos, go back to your mom's basement and drink your grape soda...

I wanted some ribs, but didn't have time for a 5-6 hour smoke. So, I cooked them at low heat on the top rack of my propane grill. I put some cherry wood chips on the bottom burner for a little bit of smoke. Basted with some BBQ sauce before pulling. No...they weren't as good as regular smoked ribs, but they were super tasty and juicy. Worked really well for something relatively quick

So....I tried a couple of new yummies this canning season.
First, is Cowboy Candy. This is jalapeño peppers cooked in a sugar and spice syrup. Super tasty on burritos and other foods. Second, is one of the BEST bbq sauces I have ever tasted. It is made with the leftover syrup from the cowboy candy.

The final product....14 pints and 21 half pints of Cowboy Candy

Bacon, tomato, and spinach sandwiches on Monday means an omelet on Tuesday....delish.
Not my prettiest work because I was making a 2 egg omelet with enough ingredients for a 4 egg omelet....hahaha. Kinda fell apart on me. All good.
Added some shrooms, back pepper, and Swiss cheese for the win.
