One of my favorite things about being in this grad program is the reprogramming of my fine art training. There is so much my fine art training taught me and I use it every day. BUT creating for product steals the joy of creating and stifles creativity if we arent careful. Creating to create is one of the most healing things one can do. Not working towards perfection, expectations or a product to be accepted. Simply allowing something to naturally flow through you. Learning to speak this language again is healing my creative spirit. Art and creativity are a beautiful and healing way to express, communicate and exist. Ive seen first hand the healing that can occur and I cant wait to embark on this next chapter of my story as an emerging art therapist. 🥰
