How are you mumming? Meh or master? 🌸🫶

If your front porch becomes a mum cemetary year after year, try watering them this way! It really helps.

I also protect mine from full afternoon sun, especially too early in the fall before the temps have really dropped.

Last year I took the time to repot mine and it made a HUGE difference in how often I had to water my mums. And how long they stayed in bloom.

Do you have a mum cemetery on your front porch or are your mums thriving?

I don’t think this would work on my pumpkin tree. 😂

I had the best day watching gigantic pumpkins 🎃get hauled with forklifts. Monster squash, gourds, and watermelon were weighed as everyone cheered. And I came home with monster pumpkin seeds so stay tuned. 😂

Why plant in fall? 👇👇👇

The soil is still warm and the air temps are cool so the roots have the perfect cozy environment to develop and get established while the shrub or tree itself has minimal stress. (No extreme temps either heat or cold.)

Fav shrubs and trees list ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Hydrangeas- 10/10, can be a shrub or tree
Inkberry Holly - native shrub! 🫶
Boxwood - evergreen, multiple sizes
Oakland Holly - so easy and so sophisticated
Spirea - lime mound has been a fav for years
Camelias - zones 7-10, pinkaboo was gorgeous!
Sweetspire - native!! 🫶 great fall color

Honorable mention (because I ran out of space) - laurel, evergreen, beautiful deep green color for a background, can range in sizes

So many more shrubs and trees are right on site at The Barn Nursery in Chattanooga, TN. I could do all of this again with a different set of shrubs because, let’s face it, I love them all. 😂
