I “collect” a lot of things, it feels like but these are the pieces I’m always looking for. The ones with character and charm, the ones I’m happy to foster for however long they’re meant to stay with me.

Collections take time and patience and, for me? That’s hard. 😂 When I decide I want to collect something, I want the whole collection immediately.

But over time, I’ve learned that’s when I make the most mistakes. I bring home pieces I don’t truly love just because they fit the collection, or things that don’t really complement what I already have.

I think part of the beauty of collecting is letting it happen slowly. Waiting for the pieces that make you stop in your tracks. Learning what you’re actually drawn to instead of what you think you should have.

And somewhere along the way, you end up learning a little bit about yourself, too. 🤍

Do I love a good link? Heck yasss. Do I need all new things every time the seasons change? Heck nahhh.

While my natural aesthetic already leans into those cozy, warm colors, I love adding to my collections too but it’s not always necessary.

So as we move into the -ber months, my hope is that you feel inspired to be intentional with your home instead of pressured to constantly buy something new. 🤎

Shop your own home. Rearrange what you already love. Forage something pretty outside. Pull out the pieces you’ve collected over the years.

And when there is something you want or need? Seek out a small business, antique dealer, thrift store, or maker first. 😉

Your home doesn’t need a seasonal haul. It just needs to feel like you.
