It has been a hot minute! Coming back from QuiltCon was almost two months ago! Jessica has been busy selling her home and healing a hip and knee injury while Michael has been pondering new tool designs and getting our newest dog (Barney- scroll through for a pic of him chilling) all settled into our little dog pack. It has been a beautiful spring!

We are excited to share that we will be vending at the “Stories in Stitches” show with the show in less that 2 weeks! We are excited to see you and all of their beautiful quilts!

360 degrees of our new seam presser - new “old” technology! Born from a customer request to have a wider foot print than the one she already owned. Ergonomically shaped to feel so good in your hand! We love making tools, what is on your mind to create?

We have been having fun on our trips to the Oregon coast the last few months. I am always trolling for agates and Michael started finding interesting driftwood. Some of it has been workable and we have a few super unique pieces in the shop right now. There is a beautiful depth of color to these seam presses. I’m keeping the seam press giveaway open until the end of the day!

QuiltCon was such a trip! Beautiful quilters and their quilts - we debuted our new (old) seam press. Like most of our tools, this seam press is a ready made heirloom. You will use it and it will only get better with age. With a slanted edge and ergonomic handle, it can sit right next your machine when you are paper piecing to flatten that seam before you add your next bit of fabric. First time for Uke Village at QuiltCon!! I’m having a great time and I appreciate Alison sharing space with our lil tool company. We are at Booth 313. It’s bustling, we are making charm pins and sticker packs. It has been fun to see all of my show friends and so many fabulous quilted clothes.

Getting back to it - happy new year world! January is a recovery and “seeking new” month - a taking stock kind of thing? We have just finished our first year as Uke Village. So many things learned! Big takeaways from 2025 -

1) Michael and I really like meeting quilters at shows. We like hearing about how you use our tools and we love hearing about new tools that you would like to see and use.
2) We like working shows together - driving to shows is a fun time to chat and plan.
3) Michael loves making tools. We had a number of custom tool requests over the last quarter. They were so fun - more please!!

Happy New Year from Uke Village, Michael and Jessica! We had a great end to 2025 - we appreciate you trusting us to make you hardwood tools that feel good in your hands. Our sale with over the holidays sold out our inventory - so keep your eyes open for all new pieces this year. Michael has been milling some of our backyard birch and we have some fun Oregon driftwood pieces taking shape. For now, we are keeping cozy in the Oregon wintertime - we hope you are too.

Last tool drop of the season for the Holiday Shop at alisonglass.com. Fun fact: the bottom two markers are made out of Ipe Wood. Ipe is at the TOP of the Janka Hardness scale for types of wood. These markers are going to hold their edge far longer than I am going to even quilt! We hope the winter season is treating you right.
