There is something so special about seeing my art out in the world… 💛

In your homes.
In your spaces.
In your everyday.

Each of these made me smile—because no two spaces are the same, and yet they all have one thing in common… a little extra color and heart.

Thank you for sharing these with me. It truly means more than you know.

👉 If you have a piece of mine in your space, send me a pic—I LOVE seeing them out in the wild 💛

Proof that every kitchen needs a little more love ❤️
This sweet collector was collecting hearts long before she found me, but over the past few years, she has added a few of mine to her home. This was her newest addition — “Love Is All We Need.”

It may be a small piece in her gorgeous kitchen, but it’s just the right amount of happy. Seeing my hearts find homes like this never gets old. It just makes my heart smile.

There’s always room for a little more love.♥

We are brightening up this space one wall at a time!

“A Star is Born” was delivered yesterday to one of my favorite collectors in Columbia, MO, and I think it looks right at home with her other two pieces. The colors all play together so beautifully and truly make this space feel special and happy.

Sharon and I have definitely perfected the art of long-distance art shopping — and I wouldn’t have it any other way. So grateful for collectors who keep coming back for more color and hearts. 💛
This is why I do what I do♥

Last weekend was the Queeny Art Fair and it reminded me again why this show is always one of my favorites. I love seeing my artist friends, but what really fills my heart is seeing so many customers and collectors who stop by just to say hi and tell me how happy their pieces make them.

I will never get tired of hearing that. Truly. Nothing makes me happier than knowing my art is doing exactly what it’s intended to do — bring a little more color, joy, and love into someone’s world.

It also reminded me that I want to keep creating the art that speaks to people’s hearts… not just the art I think juries want to see. (No offense, juries. 😄)

Because at the end of the day, connection > perfection.
And heart > everything.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, said hello, shared stories, and took a little piece of my heart home with you.

I’m just over here trying to make the world a little brighter, one heart at a time. ❤️

I hope everyone has a Benny in their life for those days when it’s just too hard to get out of bed! I promise I didn’t even pose him for this picture. For the record, I am out of bed, but someone else is refusing to budge.

Turns out you use your thumb for…a lot of things.

Who knew one tiny body part could make opening a Ziploc bag feel like an Olympic sport?

Six weeks of not being able to use my right thumb has taught me a few things…

As most of you know, I’ve spent the last six weeks recovering from hand surgery. What I didn’t realize before going into it was just how much we rely on one tiny body part…our thumb.

Turns out… a lot.

Here are a few things I’ve learned along the way:

• You don’t realize how much you use your thumb…until you suddenly can’t.
• Ziploc bags are nearly impossible to open with only your left hand. Nearly. Impossible.
• You can get surprisingly creative using other parts of your body to open packages, put on shirts, and generally survive daily life.
• If you ever need surgery like this, schedule it in the winter. Bulky sweatshirts hide the fact that putting on a bra with one hand is basically an Olympic sport.
• On that note…you can get very used to not wearing a bra.
• I have a whole new appreciation for left-handed people living in a right-handed world.

I’ve also learned a few things about people.

Relying on friends and family for rides, meals, and help with everyday things is a humbling experience. Turns out I have some pretty amazing people in my corner.

My husband Paul also gave a valiant effort at washing and styling my curly hair…
but let’s just say he has officially been relieved of that position.

My dogs, however, have been excellent recovery buddies.

And a bouquet of flowers on the kitchen table can brighten your day more than you realize.

There has also been a lot of reading and TV watching. Six weeks is a long time.

I’ve learned that I really do love getting lost in a good book.
And apparently I now have opinions about reality TV I never thought I’d have. (For the record…is love actually blind? The jury is still out.)

But the biggest thing I learned?

When you can’t do something you love for six weeks, you realize just how much it matters to you.

I really missed painting.

When creating is such a big part of who you are, six weeks feels like a very long pause.

So while this season has definitely been slower than usual, it has also reminded me how grateful I am for this creative life, for the people who support it, and for the joy that comes from making something with my own two hands.

For now, I’m easing back in, keeping my sense of humor, and feeling very ready to start putting some color back into the world.

As always, thank you for being part of my corner.

Living life heart first,
Cindy

Taking time to refill your cup isn’t a luxury — it’s part of living heart-first. A little rest, a little color, a little love… it all ripples outward.

What’s one small thing you’re doing to refill your cup this weekend?
