Who I am

If you must know, I get my name from a saying I heard thought my life. “I want to see a**holes and elbows”. It means hurry up. I found this fitting for my name for several reasons. Its an ode to my family and their weird sayings, they are the people I hold very close to my heart. It allows me to not use my real name, because I am not one for vanity or being the center of any attention when it comes to my artwork. (cheesecakes on the other hand, I have a very big head about) It is also a joke about the fast work time resin has. I have 30 minutes to create the things I do with this medium, and almost 8 of those minutes are spent mixing the resin properly. As much as I love resin, there has been several times I haven't wanted to even look at it due to past ‘failures’, or items not coming our quite like I expected after several attempts. To quote the legend Frank Sinatra, thats life.

A little (or a lot) about myself. I was raised in an artistic world, my mothers passion for everything creative molded who I am as a person and an artist. She taught me to love the art that surrounds us in our everyday lives. Everything from architecture, to baking, to painting, to the weeds in my backyard. I don't remember a time in my life where I wasn't creating something. It started with dollar store crayons and paints, and has developed into high end resin, wood and ceramic. I have nurtured the talent I possess, and became a ‘self taught’ artist and baker, asking anyone and everyone for tips, and new techniques. I primarily do paintings, resin work and ceramics, but the art world isn't one for rules, so I often stray from my path and discover a new form of art that catches my heart. I love doing custom works for people, and seeing photos of my work proudly displayed in their homes, that is easily my favorite part of creating.

I think true happiness comes from being inspired by the world around you, and finding beauty in everyday things. In the other hand though, I think true inspiration comes from difficult times. In the 23 years I have lived, I have experienced great loss. Due to my ‘sunny disposition’ that I try to uphold, I do my best to find inspiration in bad events. If you know one of the people I have lost, you might see their personality or something related to them appear in my work.

So, welcome to my journey, welcome to my brain, displayed though facebook post.
