Hello, everyone! I'm John, an avid outdoor enthusiast, a passionate skier and snowboarder with over 30 years of experience. A little over a decade ago, I traded the hustle and bustle of NYC's skyscrapers for the serene beauty of the Colorado mountains. Nestled in the stunning town of Steamboat Springs, CO, I've found my true calling. Wh

en I'm not relishing the Colorado lifestyle, I channel my creativity into crafting one-of-a-kind ski and snowboard furniture, games, and more. All of these pieces share a common thread - they're born from old skis and snowboards that have seen their fair share of mountain adventures. My journey to source these materials takes me to garage sales, Goodwill stores, and occasionally even a dumpster dive. I find the hidden beauty in equipment that's reached the end of its mountain journeys and repurpose them into unique, functional pieces that celebrate the spirit of the slopes. 2 Years ago, I was discharged from UT MD Anderson Cancer Center after my surgery! Unsure what the recovery would be and what the future would hold... Today, I"M CANCER FREE!

This November I'll run the TCS New York City Marathon (10 years since my last NYC marathon) for the Colorectal Cancer Alliance to support patients, families, research, and early detection.

I have been donating all my JRs Designs proceeds from the Main Street Steamboat Springs Steamboat Farmers Market all summer and now just $1,200 away from reaching my fundraising goal, and every donation helps make a difference.

Two years ago today, I had my first appointment at MD Anderson for my colon cancer diagnosis.
Today, I'm grateful to be cancer-free, healthy, and back to doing the things I love — running, mountain biking, skiing, hiking, hockey, and enjoying life outdoors.
In 2026, I'll return to the TCS New York City Marathon, but this time I'm running for something bigger than myself: raising funds for the Colorectal Cancer Alliance to support patients, families, research, and early detection.
I'm now just $1,750 away from reaching my fundraising goal, and every donation helps make a difference.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey and helped me get this far. 💙
