Having a day job is really inconvenient 😬😂
My client, who has the patience of Job, ordered this from me in late November. I was deployed on a project that didn’t end until late May.
So finally, completion, and he’ll pick it up on Monday.
So what do we have here. The “box” of the night stand is oak and maple plywood, but all the other wood is salvaged from the places I’ve been.
The top is, from the middle outward, acacia, white oak, poplar and then white oak again. The defects are filled with clear epoxy, so they’re smooth to the touch, but visible. I want them to see the past life this wood has had.
The frame of the box is all white oak….with the four legs coming from one beam pulled out of a building in Charleston built in 1850.
The drawer fronts are acacia and white oak. The drawer pulls are wrought iron.
There is an integral socket on the back with regular plug, USB and USB-C.
And finally, there are adjustable felt feet on the bottom since I’ve never encountered a truly level floor.
