Timing, numbers, and synchronicities in my life have a funny pattern of working out just so — and I trust all the time that Spirit works in knowing ways, with lessons all along. Year 5 of Pocket of Sunshine brought me MANY happy firsts - like hitting 777 orders through my website🎰, vending with my brand new sunshine pop up tent, using a form on my website to organize custom requests, got a new business card design, first nighttime show, and being the first year I primarily relied on word-of-mouth for custom request referrals🌞 - and it also brought some major challenges with the fire & aftermath, needing to reset the progress on bringing to life a WORKSHOP of my dreams, where I can host my beautiful community and do fun arts n crafts n chill together☺️

However, for the past 6 months behind the scenes, I’ve been taking all necessary steps to get this demolition & garage glam rebuild process movingggg, and *coincidence? I think not!* finally, TODAY, I got the first rough sketch blueprint from the architect for my new studio🥹🏚️🔜🏠🥲 The timing could not be more on par🤌🏽 SO, today in celebration of six joyful and fascinating years of entrepreneurship, I am gleefully working on some bridal collages and manifesting all the goodness coming my way to Pocket of Sunshine in Year 6 of biz🧡 And even though this cake wasn’t from today, the freedom of food and choosing what to cook or bake and craft up in the kitchen has kept me creatively inspired even through all my grief and understanding! So cheers to finding inspiration in all forms through year 6☝🏽🖐🏽🫶🏽

The first thing I’m doing in 2024 is taking a pause for the cause🧡 Looking back on my journey, I am continually inspired by the path I pursue, calling the shots as I see fit and growing this “business” aka COMMUNITY of friends - and then friends of friends - now strangers turned clients and everyone in between! While I have never been here for the real “business” strategy side of things, I really do appreciate having a creative outlet that doesn’t just deplete me, and is more of an energetic exchange♻️

I just checked my archived posts & realized I have only ever “closed” once, and not since June of 2022, which means since I started resin work in 2020, I have perpetually taken on project after beautiful project, request after blesséd request, but this year, my craft is calling for a step back and a rejuvenation of my “why”🧘🏽‍♀️ When I started Pocket of Sunshine in 2018, it was out of a desire to make things that I liked, stuff I wanted to make because I was drawn to shift shapes and materialize ideas, creating for arts sake - not necessarily to please💟 In 2024, I want to check off more projects from my own personal passion list - there are so many things I want to do, so many materials I want to work with that have been hanging around WAITING FOR MEEE to experiment with, and TONS of inspo in my note app that I’d like to bring to life in my very own way! But, in order to do that, I need to step away from the floral preservation requests - at least until all my open requests have been finished up and closed - and I can hopefully reclaim some of that time for tapping back into my personal groooove🌞 It’s difficult for me to say no to you all, because I love what I do and I love making things for people who truly treasure the time, effort, energy and intention I put into what I make, but the natural ebb and flow is nudging me back out to sea for a while… and I welcome the wave🌊🩵 PS - if you have an open request with me, this means sunshine coming soooon because y’all are now tip top priority!!! If you’ve already booked ahead, I can’t wait to work with you still🥰 Otherwise, thanks for being here, playing along, & you’ll DEF be seeing mee🫶🏽

- My first live sale since my Birchbark MOVING blowout Nov ‘22🥲
- My first sale with a TENT💛⛺️
- My first gig that dipped into those later eveningggg hours, which elevates the vibe some typa way🌚
- Which also meant, first sale with LIGHTS🙏🏽💡 and needing to plan for no electric lolzZzZz
- My first cross-collaborative event!!! The only pop-ups I’ve done have only ever featured vendors! It was soo SO beautiful to see the collaboration of creatives come together - music numbers on stage, botanical culinary cocktails, mobile tattoo artist & barber!?!? BRUH That ?arty was where it was at!!!!🔥
- Surprise dropped my next batch of hoodies & tops and one already sold!!!!🤎🥺

All in all — I am grateful for everyone who came together to make it truly poppin. I had a blast, learned some crucial lessons for next time (always, all ways learning☝🏽) and sending alllllllll the thanks out into the ether for everyone who: stopped by my tent, complimented my craft, chatted, purchased my (he)artwork, and overall sent me on my way with renewed glow for WHY I do all thisssss on the side, even when it’s not my “job”🤪🤪🤪 I love you all🥲 Someone told me the Pocket of Sunshine tent was “like a safe sanctuary in here” last night, so if you’re wondering how it all went, that’s on THAT! Period🫶🏽 See you next time🙏🏽
