Welcome to **You’ve Been Poppins’d**, our family business in Taylor, Michigan. We create custom apparel, personalized gifts, and playful 3D-printed items for millennial parents, their kids, and anyone who appreciates a little humor with their everyday life.
Our family brings together two worlds: a mom raised on a dirt road in a small farm town, surrounded by animals, vegetable gardens, and a 1973 Massey Ferguson tractor—and a dad and kids raised in Metro Detroit. That mix of country roots and city spirit shows up in what we make: practical, creative, sometimes nostalgic, and often a little sarcastic.
For Mom, creating goes back to making sweet treats with her mother and learning to crochet with her granny at seven. Becoming a nurse in 2008 and a cosmetologist in 2012 added more ways to care for people and help them express themselves. Dad brings his experience as a Marine Corps veteran, parts clerk supervisor for an airline and with his Engineering Degrees and aircraft mechanics education he helps make this duo unstoppable. Today, Mom, Dad, and the kids all take part in designing and printing our 3D creations. It’s a family effort, with plenty of personalities contributing ideas.
Family means a lot to us—and it takes many forms. Mom and both kids were adopted, so adoption, foster care awareness, and celebrating families across racial backgrounds are close to our hearts. We also treasure our found family: the friends, coaches, coworkers, and other people who show up, care, and become part of our lives.
We’re a neurodivergent family and proud LGBTQ+ allies. We want our shop to feel welcoming to people whose families, interests, and ways of moving through the world look different. There’s room here for the busy parents, gamers, sports fans, creative kids, and people with a perfectly timed sarcastic comment.
Youth sports are part of our family life, too. With a son playing on the Taylor Seahawks’ offensive and defensive lines, team pride is personal. We love making football and cheer gear that helps families celebrate their athletes and connect with their community.
