One project. Seven little libraries. So many hands, talents and reasons to be grateful.
Earlier this summer, Partners in Education brought staff and volunteers to Inspired Lumber Workshop, where together we built seven libraries for local schools. What began as stacks of wood in our shop was then placed into the hands of seven local artists, each of whom gave a library its own story:
Old Orchard Elementary — Camille Siebenaler
Leverette Elementary — Matt Taylor
Escuela SMART Academy — Thomas Craley
DeVeaux Elementary — Kayla Cherry
Queen of Apostles School — Jessica Ball
Keyser Elementary — Chris “Chilly” Rodriguez
Birmingham Elementary — Dean Davis
Those libraries are now installed, putting books within reach for children, families and neighborhoods throughout Toledo.
We are grateful to Partners in Education for trusting us with a piece of this project and for the work they do every day to help Toledo students read, succeed and thrive. We are proud of their organization, proud of the artists and volunteers who shared their time and talent, and proud to be part of a community that continues to show up for kids.
Thank you to the John Henry Eldred Jr. Foundation, Rotary Club of Toledo volunteers, the participating schools and everyone who helped bring this project to life. Special thanks to Valerie and Brooke from Partners in Education who spearheaded this project and made it all come together.
This is what it looks like when a community builds something together. We are honored that Inspired Lumber Workshop had a place in the story.
