Wow, long time no post. Here's a little reading light I just tossed together for Elliot's loft bed. No cords, no heat. I really like the way this came together.

The new garage wall addition. I have a second wall decal if anyone is interested.

Tommy: Here's the way I see it, Ted. Guy puts a fancy guarantee on a box 'cause he wants you to feel all warm and toasty inside.

Nelson: Yeah, makes a man feel good.

Working on a fun little garage art project. I scored an O'reilly's LED "auto parts" sign a while back. I need to wire up the sign and pick up my new 60" Callahan wall decal.

Those vintage porcelain auto signs are way overrated.

It's Father's Day weekend, so here's a mushy Dad post. I'm so proud that my son has read two books this week without any prompting and very little help from his folks. He's really enjoying trips to the library on his summer break. 7 years old with the world in front of him.

To all you Dad's out there. Do it right. Make the little moments count. Support your kids. Teach them love, respect, using available resources to problem solve, and provide encouragement when they find enjoyment in an activity.

I had a little surprise today when I removed the headlight from a recently purchased set of F100 headlight buckets. Dry climate = rust free parts. Dry climate can also mean critter surprises.

I'm thinking about making a few more of these Ford fairlane lights. The box was built with some scrap 1x6, 1x8 and 1x12 boards and roughed up a bit. I used layered chalk paint and scuffed a bit to make it look aged. The original paint on some 50s cars was so cool.
