One of the most important aspects of interior design is creating beautiful spaces that align with a client’s budget. Design isn’t defined by how much you spend, it’s about making intentional choices that maximize both style and value.

To highlight this, I decided to design two similar rooms at different price points. The goal was to show that a well-designed home can be achieved at a variety of budgets. While higher-end investments can add luxury, there are also many affordable options that are still beautiful.

Okay, I finally understand the hype.

I’ve been hearing about designer reclining sofas for years, and I finally caved. For the longest time, I associated reclining sofas with oversized, dated leather furniture that completely took over a room. But the newer options are completely different, and as you can see in the video above, look just as good as a normal sofa!

I’ve realized that creating a home that feels beautiful while still being functional and comfortable is always worth it. A space should not only look good, but also feel good to live in every day.

So if you’ve been searching for reclining sofas that still feel elevated and design-friendly, I rounded up some of my favorite options.

If you love a good before + after AND love the lake…this one’s for you 🌊✨ We just shared our Shangri-La project on the blog for Memorial Day weekend and had SO much fun bringing this lake house back to life for our sweet clients + friends. Thinking about them making memories there this weekend makes me so happy. 🥹 . As always, this was a CMDCO + collaboration! ❤️ Which room is your favorite?! One of my goals for this year was to just show more behind the scenes with you guys and IN PROGRESS photos. It can sometimes take years to plan, design, build, and move out amazing clients in and then styling and photographs… and I just found out this week that one of my favorite projects of all time I will never be photographing and sharing. It just reminded me that the right here right now and even just the progress photos, are important and I need to do better at sharing! We have so many projects going on and when I see these slides I’m just reminded how very grateful and thankful we are for each and everyone of you who allow Carissa Miller Design Co + help you make your dream homes happen! We are forever grateful. A few things from this week - Taj Mahal is HOT if you don’t know and we installed both a quartzite AND BRAND new quartz slab in two of our projects - one in Oklahoma and one in Texas. They are both beauties! We signed two more amazing whole home projects, one of which is a project for repeat clients - this will be our THIRD project with them and we are so excited to work with them . Dallas Project is … well, a masterpiece coming to completion that I can’t even want to share with you guys. This estate is a once in a lifetime project that I have been so honored to be a part of. We have TWO grand lake projects - one installing next Tuesday! Our Ponderosa project is Texas Hill Country style home also on a ranch that is coming together beautifully. Countertops went in this week and wait til you see the Ijen blue waterfall countertops we put in this baby! I also threw in some personal photos. I’m thinking I might do that from time to time too if anyone on this ole app is still interested in the good old days where we just posted photos and write and share ❤️. Got to see DJ E$ perform at tumbleweed , Galentiness, oh yes we have a new dog - Millie- we’ve adopted her (if you were here for Chief it didn’t work du to a biting instance 😭😭 but we were able to give a home to Millie and things have been amazing so far). That’s what’s going on with the Millers! Thanks for being here yall!
