someone please ooh and aaah with me over the floral, autumn-toned velvet material that was used on this wooden handcrafted footstool! it is so perfectly 70s in my book!

and did you see the feet of the stool? they are heels. i mean!!! adorable!

it might be rainy outside, but that sounds like the perfect day for perusing all the treasures at the hive antique mall! i added a few treasures to the booth last night and also spied some beautiful things my fellow vendors were bringing in!

(new reseller admission, here 🙋🏻‍♀️! i had to do my research and look up what a ristra was! i called this vegetable wall decor, which is also totally appropriate! 😜)

i’m pretty sure my nana, m***a lou, had one of these in her kitchen at one time. and if she didn’t, i could totally see her having one of these.

this bright mid-century gem is available in my booth at the hive antique mall (2615 s harvard). the mall is open every day except tuesday, so go sn**ch it up if you need this in your kitchen!

i thought it might be fun to share a little more about the “me” behind this account.

my name is amber. i know - confusing since my account name is m***a lou designs! 🤪

m***a lou is the beautiful lady in pic 2! she was my nana, and played a pretty big role in my upbringing along side my mom. my nana had the best green thumb, was serious about manners, and could surprise you with her sass! she’s who the account is named after, but i’ll get to that in a second.

i’m a dog-mom to two crazy pups - who are really seniors these days! you’ve got mail and pride & prejudice are my go-to movies. i’ll listen to george strait any day! a couple of colleagues have turned me into a baby-birder and i’m tracking my back-yard birds regularly!

i’ve always had my hand in some form of crafting and/or creating. i started this account right after my nana passed away (hence the name). it started as a hand-lettering space, then i added some watercolor (thanks to the pandemic), and it has been a creative space ever since.

i really started embracing my love for vintage since moving back to Oklahoma and i’ve slowly found my way into my own vintage booth (the hive antique mall). the joy of sourcing treasures, curating a space, and bringing some beauty & whimsy in the way of thing with old stories - who knew it could be this fun. and this little account felt like a continuation of creating!
