A lot of test prints, a few failures, and a whole lot of figuring it out.

We’ve been working on a NEW way to bring detailed, full-color designs into our woodworking at ENC Farmhouse, and we’re finally getting it almost dialed in.

This opens up so many possibilities for what we can make next. 👀

Why ENC Farmhouse?

I recently read Start With Why by Simon Sinek, and it got me thinking about why I started ENC Farmhouse and why I’ve continued doing it.

For me, the answer is simple: customer satisfaction and personal connection.

I’ve never wanted ENC Farmhouse to be a business where someone places an order, I make it, ship it, and that’s the end of it. I enjoy getting to know the person behind the order, hearing the story behind what they want, and creating something that actually means something to them.

Some of my favorite parts of this business have been seeing customers’ reactions when they receive their finished piece and knowing I was able to turn their idea or story into something they can keep.

The products we make will continue to change. We’ll keep trying new things, learning new processes, and probably ruining a few pieces along the way. 😂

But the why stays the same.

Build something personal. Build a connection. Make sure the customer is proud of what they receive.

That’s the why behind ENC Farmhouse.

Our household goods have arrived, and we are in the process of moving in! 🏠🎉

A week before our things were delivered, we were notified that one of the wooden crates containing some of our belongings had been significantly affected by water damage on the ship during transit. We had no idea how bad it was or what to expect, but we knew our laser engraver was in that crate.

The box containing the engraver was severely damaged, and we fully expected to have to throw the whole machine away. We weren’t even sure if we would be able to purchase and ship a replacement to the island if it didn’t survive.

Matthew set it up, and lo and behold—the laser lit up and started working! 🙌 What a huge relief!

We’ve spent the last five days tirelessly getting settled in and turning our house into a home. Today, we finished setting up our office space in the front room, and we are happy with how it turned out!

We’re also currently playing around with our new sublimation printer and have some exciting things to share with you soon, (adding some decor to the empty wall above the desk 👀) so stay tuned!

We are incredibly excited for this new and different chapter of the business here in Okinawa. We can’t wait to see where this next adventure takes us! ❤️🇯🇵

We’re honored to create pieces that celebrate the dedication, sacrifice, and service of military members. 🇺🇸

For years, we have proudly created custom pieces for all branches of the military, each one made with care and attention to detail.

We look forward to shifting our focus while here in Japan towards military gifts for all occasions to service the large military community in the area. As well as baby birth stat boards, name signs, and ornaments! We can't wait to share new creations later on! 💙

Exciting things coming!!

These just look like regular moving boxes (& no, we haven't gotten our household goods just yet 😆) but they're something even better! These new machines will help us take our ornament and military plaque designs to the next level.

Super excited to try them out once our laser gets here!!

Something fun is coming soon! 💙

We are still awaiting the arrival of our laser engraver to get the business up and running again, but once it comes we are doing another giveaway!! I won't share too many details, but this will be a giveaway for followers in Okinawa, on the West Coast and on the East Coast! This will help us figure out shipping from a new location and work out the kinks before starting up custom orders.

As soon as we're ready, we will post the giveaway to share and enter! Stay tuned!! ✨

After 3 weeks of hotel living...we have a HOME! 🩵

This is our first time living on base in Matthew's career and we are so excited for the friendships, community, and adventures to come. Camille is thrilled to have a place to call home again and loved picking out her room. Now we are just patiently waiting for our stuff to arrive so we can begin making this house our own.

Re-sharing these adorable "First Day Of" school boards we created last year!

Although we won't have these out in time for the start of the '26-'27 school year, we will have these designs available to order in the new year!

Christmas in July! 🎄Some of our favorites!

It's been a week here in Japan and we are enjoying our adventures of trying new things and meeting new people. Matthew is starting back to work and will officially be in his new position by August. We are still working on housing and our home goods have not made their way here just yet. Our hopes are to be in our new home soon to start moving in and decorating. We would love to be able to start using the laser engraver and creating ornaments in time for the Christmas season.

We are currently in a *waiting* period right now but will provide business updates as they come!
