One of the most underrated kitchen luxuries?
A setup that can pivot with you.

Everyone loves a built-in moment, but, actually ...
Flexibility often wins. 🙌🏼

This kitchen didn’t have the custom peg system you see in a lot of kitchen cabinetry, so we created the same function with movable plate holders instead.

I think there's a strong argument that this setup works even better.

▪ Plates stay separated by size
▪ Nothing shifts around when the drawer opens
▪ Entire stacks can be lifted out by the handles and carried straight to the table
▪ And, if your needs change later? The whole drawer can change with you.

That last part matters more than people realize.

Sometimes, after living in a kitchen, you discover the plates would function better in a different drawer altogether. When your storage isn’t permanently locked into one layout, you actually have the freedom to improve it as your needs and lifestyle change.

Good organization isn’t just about creating a pretty system.
It’s about designing one smart enough to evolve.

Since Cinco de Mayo hit on a rainy Tuesday (and the day after I had to take my husband to the ER for a dislocated shoulder), I grant you (and me) permission to celebrate it this weekend instead. 🍋‍🟩🌮

And, since we're all trying to survive this crazy end-of-the-school-year month ...

Let's just call our weekend celebration simply "Mayo." 🍹 It's 5 o'clock.

Not every closet needs a full gut.

This one came with good bones, but it was designed for someone else. That’s where most closets fall short.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When the layout doesn’t match how you live, it doesn’t matter how custom it once was. It won’t function correctly for *you.*
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In this case, we kept the structure and re-planned the space around our client’s lifestyle for better use, accessibility, and, most importantly, visibility. 👀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here’s how we made it work:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Added a hanging rod for everyday pieces and relocated the less-used long-hang items
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Replaced bulky shoe boxes with clear, stackable storage to maximize vertical space and visibility
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Placed in low shelving for daily grab-and-go shoes
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Gave the corner unit structure with defined sweater storage
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Created a dedicated landing zone for frequently worn and loved jewelry
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Same closet. Completely different performance. All because the Plan now matches the Person. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏻
