‘Zuppa Toscana’ basically means ‘Tuscan Soup’. We love Italian over here at Casa Smallwood (that’s an Italian casa, not Spanish), but the kale in this recipe kept me from trying it for too long. I’m so glad I got brave and tried this hearty, creamy zuppa. Order yours tomorrow for pickup on Monday.

I cribbed this recipe from my school lunchroom eons ago. Roxton ISD made their Beef Stew with chunks of stew meat (it was the 80's when we still ate real food), but I use lean ground beef or leftover beef roast. Order this Soup of the Week today for pick up on Monday.

While you're shopping for those New Year's Eve party goodies, don't forget the black-eyed peas for good luck in 2024! Here's the recipe I use for Hoppin' John, our family's favorite way to eat our good luck:

Traditionally, Hoppin' John is a one-pot recipe, but that often produces soupy results. Instead, use our technique, and cook the black-eyed peas with aromatics and broth until tender; then strain and reserve the liquid for later.
