It is with deep sorrow that I share this information. On Feb 18 2025 I, along with Scott’s daughter, discovered that Scott had passed away in his home. Please know that if you have purchased any of his wood creations, they were made with much love and care. He deeply appreciated your confidence in his work.
I do not know yet what will happen to Old South. I suspect the state will want the business to be closed as it is a partnership. I plan to reopen in the coming months in time for the fall and holiday events . I am nowhere near as talented as he was as a carpenter, therefore will not be creating the woodcrafts he did. If there any pieces remaining in the shop or trailer they will be sold. I will post them here.

Thank you all for your support over the years and patience during this time. Stay tuned for future announcements.

Great big thank you to all the men & women @ Union Power Cooperative working on today’s outage. I hope you get some much needed rest after this is over! Power back on at my house earlier than expected!! I cannot begin to tell you how grateful we are for your hard work and dedication. Again THANK YOU!!!

Last event of the year. Some new items just in time for Christmas. I’ll be at the Chili cook off benefit at Lowder Land Farms from 1-4 today 12/9. (Corner of St. Martin & Frog Pond) Come out and sample some chili, visit Chewy (Highland cow) and the other animals. Live music, food truck, vendors, petting zoo, pony rides and more.

We are less than 2 weeks out from Buzzed Viking’s 2nd Annual Skoltober Fall Festival in Locust. Plan to come out to the city hall backyard on October 28th from 11-4 for live music, the mobile tap room, food trucks, bounce houses, rock climbing, 60+ vendors & more.

It’s going to be a scary good time!
