It’s the day before The Scandinavian Festival! I rolled out of bed & came down here before it got hot to put the inside of my booth together. This is the time I start really dreaming about how things will go. I’m thinking about how each and every product I designed and made will go into the hands of someone who adores it. This is the part I love so much! I can’t wait to see you!

Our latest bags! They’ll be at my next show unless you claim them first😉.

A few seconds to show you all the result of all the curating of fabrics from all around the country, mixing fabrics that seem like they were always meant to go together, washing, cutting, ironing, attaching interfacing, and sewing to the beat of my favorite Netflix or audio book!

This part of my business always brings me a special joy as I love repurposing, upcycling, and using fabrics that have stood the test of time. By the way, the blue floral fabric as dated 1984…..that’s 42 years ago friends! In 1984, 42 year old fabric was from 1942!!!! I can’t hardly wrap my head around that! lol

All the textures, colors and patterns….these are your statement pieces! And remember these bags are versatile: wear as a crossbody bag, F***y bag or as a small purse!

Stella is our dog and I am one of her 5 people (and Maggie is her sweet sister that came to live with us a year and a half ago! Yes, Stella is the inspiration behind my business name, and more than that, she’s my original buddy and I honestly can’t believe we almost lost her forever.

Not only was she a half mile down the road, but we were walking in acres and acres of pasture, orchards and farmland in the pitch black with just our flashlights. I cannot tell you how hard I was praying (between my sobbing)😩.

A very busy road & thoughts of cougar sightings made me press I. As hard as I could. I can’t tell you how grateful I am for my “people” coming to help me during the late hours of night.

Stella has no idea how lucky she is. It took just a few minutes for her to relax and act like nothing had happened. Oh to be a little dog who hasn’t a care in the world because they know their people will find them no matter where they’ve gone. 🙃🤦🏼‍♀️…She has no idea how close she came….nor the fact without some heavenly help, she may have never made it home.

So today, I’m grateful. We’ve been quiet the last few days as you probably imagine, I’m not as quick to bounce back as quickly.

But now it’s back to my sewing machines for business as usual!

I used to care. What can I say?

I don’t have time or energy to care anymore. I’ve got things to make & no extra time to stage the perfect content. You like the hair towel? Lol…for real, it’s the best to gently dry wet hair.

What you get from me is real ….i make what I like, I care about quality, I don’t outsource my sewn goods and I try and incorporate vintage fabrics and other more sustainable goods like ®️Pendleton wool where I can. I sew on several vintage Singer 401 sewing machines that have come from my grandmother, MIL and mom. I like traditions, the old way of doing things & I truly am excited about what I make. You can’t fake that!

The truth is I need to get back to making pocket bags, hats, wristlet keychains, etc….but………,

These are so fun I just can’t stop! I saw this stripe in my stash and thought I just have to make one more!

See you into stripes as much as I am? And honestly paired with a floral….um….yes pleaseeeee!

Ok….now I need to be done for a while. So now is the time to grab a tote while we have a few in stock….AND our promo for the FREE matching zipper wallet and wristlet keychain ends soon!

GRAMMY GOALS:

*Do whatever she wants
*Snuggle her all day
*Swing on my porch swing every morning together
*Spend a lot of time on the floor playing with her
*Take lots of pictures
*Slowly expose her to sewing & never let it be too long so sewing might be something she enjoys one day. 5 minutes a day of sewing is what we do on Grammy days.

WRISTLET KEYCHAINS ARE FINALLY ONLINE!

Confession: My least favorite part of running my business isn’t creating—it’s photographing products, editing photos, uploading them to my website, and creating listings. 😅

The funny thing is, it’s also one of the most important parts of my business. Eek

Because I work with so many unique, one-of-a-kind, and vintage fabrics, I can’t just make one listing and keep adding inventory. Almost every new piece means new photos, new descriptions, and a brand-new listing. It’s a lot of work behind the scenes!

Sometimes I’m tempted to simplify and use the same fabrics on repeat, but discovering unique fabrics and turning them into something special is what truly feeds my soul. ❤️

So today I’m celebrating a win: I finally tackled a big pile of inventory that had been waiting to be photographed and added to the website. It wasn’t the most glamorous task, but it means there are now so many new items available for you to browse and enjoy!

I’m feeling proud, relieved, and excited to share these new creations with you. Thank you for supporting the creative work and all the behind-the-scenes work that helps bring it to you.
