Why we chose soy wax candles:
Soy’s greatest advantage is that it is completely renewable. Soy candles have become a very popular alternative to paraffin wax candles because they are made from plant oils that are natural and more environmentally friendly compared to the candles that use petroleum in their wax.
In addition to sustainability, a well-made soy candle will burn clean and slow, 30% to 50% longer than a paraffin wax candle. While the performance of so candles speak for themselves, soy wax truly is the best wax for that perfect candle. When you light a soy candle, the scent is gradually released. If properly made, soy candles will burn for 7 to 9 hours for every one ounce of wax.
Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soy beans. The US grows the vast majority of soy beans. It benefits US agriculture, as soy beans are grown, harvested and manufactured in the US. Soy candles support US soybean farmers, where paraffin candles could be manufactured with foreign oil.
Also note: Our candles are made entirely of soy wax. Soy candles can produce a white layer around the jar called “frost”. This doesn’t mean that your candle is defective, and it does not affect the performance of your candle. This is a natural occurrence of soy candles. In fact, this is how you know that your candle is made of pure soy wax. It’s also said that soy candles/melts need to cure for two weeks after making them for the best smell when burning them.
You can also recycle and reuse your mason jars and tins after the last burn. Just empty the remaining wax and use a paper towel to get any of the remaining wax out of the bottom of the jar or tin and loosen the metal wick tab from the bottom of the container. Another good way to clean the bottom of your candles after using them is to use a pair of pantyhose. It catches all the dust and doesn’t leave residue. Then you can clean the bottom with warm soapy water and reuse the container.
Since each candle is hand-poured, each candle will be slightly different from the next. That’s what makes them beautiful and unique. We take the time to create each candle with care. We want you to have a scentsational experience with our candles.
Happy burning my friends
Lisa and Brian
