Enjoying a different pace for the spring antique show this year, and so grateful for every moment. Being “at home” allows for displaying fun pieces like vintage and Texas made pottery, adding in vintage faith-based items, and creating a place to slow down and not stress about moving items so there’s less to pack up at the end.
Gradually getting a few pieces moved into where “the slow track” is the theme of the day, everyday…meaning progress occurs, just at a slower and less rushed pace, taking time to enjoy company, and recalling to mind that each day is a new opportunity to keep moving forward while enjoying the pleasures and graces of the past.
Someone commented yesterday that the store is such a different vibe than other places, with a sense of peace and calm…while another customer noted how people need to take more time to slow down, taking in everything around them. I couldn’t agree more. While the world rushes by on the busy highway just outside our doors, the store is a respite and opportunity to take a step back in time, enjoy the surroundings, reflect, renew, and start again.
I’ve been praying for guidance in this overwhelming renewal of the store, and with each new customer that stepped through our doorway yesterday He provided a glimpse of the direction He desires 🤎 All I need to do is remember to listen and observe.
Peace, community, family, neighbor, time to be still, love and faith.
Those are the themes that will continue to guide this journey, renewing and redeeming our own little piece of the world.
