One incredibly unique building, featuring two nearly identical units…so, I got creative.

Upon entering I was instantly reminded of the earth ships in New Mexico that my mom used to be obsessed with. But I was also inspired by Mediterranean homes, and even some vacation homes I’ve seen in Mexico.

And that’s why on one side I went neutral in color, but included lots of texture with driftwood, clay, and raffia. Just because the house faces a canal off of Buckeye Lake, doesn’t mean the inside can’t feel like somewhere much further away.

Then there’s the other side. For the sake of the vision I opted to not only leave the built in sofa’s cushions as is, but to be inspired by their deep blue color. Between the white plaster walls, the terracotta floors, and the wood ceilings, the backdrop itself is already perfection, but when I added more blues, black, and pops of red, the space just came to life.

Some elements are repeated throughout both duplexes for the sake of unity, however altered ever so slightly. And probably my favorite parts are the more subtle nautical decor speckled throughout (seriously, I HATE when lake and beach houses SCREAM at you, ya know?) and the vintage elements I brought in from my own, personal collection.

A lot went wrong with this one. Broken dining table, delayed deliveries, understaffed. But that’s life, ya know? Ultimately, this fully restored Victorian on 7 acres in Granville still turned out beautifully.

If I could snag this one I definitely would 🧡

Okay, so, I’m a BIG fan of this living that I staged over the weekend. The warm, wooden floors and white walls served as the perfect canvas to bring in some cozy and eclectic vibes. I know that it’s often the practice in staging to stick to neutrals but that is a challenge for me because I love color. But I promise not to go overboard…unless you ask me to!

Hi friends!

For those of you that don’t me, my name is Johanna and I’m the owner of JOVI FRENCH CREATIVE STUDIO & STAGING. (I swear I’m not yelling, I just like it better in caps)

Anywho, I’ve been doing home staging for a few years now and I’m still madly in love with it! And trust me when I say that I’ve been waiting a very long time to discover what I love to do and figure out how to earn a living doing it.
I love meeting new people, touring properties, and being given the awesome opportunity to transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary homes!

I have the most supportive husband, that’s always there for every new grandiose idea I have and patient with me while I grow up, as well as 2 amazing kids, Connor and Clover, although my mini me, is the only one “pictured” here with me.

We love spending time together, eating at restaurants and cooking out, traveling, and tearing apart our 1950’s cape cod. We’ve got 3 little kitties—Louie, Murray, and Hopper, who, coincidentally also love tearing apart our home.
And when I’m not doing all of the above, I sculpt using homemade paper clay and sell some the items on Etsy.

But it was selling vintage that brought here, strangely enough and helped me learn about visual merchandising, which is basically staging! It also taught me to hone my creative eye for sourcing; guiding me to make thoughtful purchases toward building my beautiful and eclectic staging inventory.

When I was a little girl I wanted to be a singer, then a meteorologist, then an actress, then a nutritionist, and so on…never did I think I’d end up here, but I’m so glad I did. I guess all those hours of HGTV with my mom were subconsciously working behind the scenes 🧡
