Just finished this new piece! Swipe to see some progress photos…when I remembered to take them 😆 . (After writing this, I realize this is such a ramble/stream of consciousness lol. But I’m sharing it anyway)
I’ve created forest scenes since I first started needle felting as a representation of life’s continuous journey through the unknown. The terrain changes, but there’s beauty in every curve, every obstacle, and every unexpected test. The light is always shining through the canopy. I have found there’s such clarity in disconnecting from society. From the fast pace, the distractions, the pressure to conform. I don’t think it’s good for our mental health to have our phones constantly available. I know… most jobs and family situations require continuous communication. But…It’s so important to carve out time to find stillness. When you can be alone with your own thoughts and feelings.
Some of my favorite pieces haven’t shown a clear cut path…although sometimes it’s a nice comfort to know you’re on the right one. This time of year, I’m craving those bright summer colors! But you know what, without the ups and downs and the changes of season, I don’t know if we’d appreciate each one as much. Vibrancy is everywhere… in emotions, in music, in our relationships, our expressions of love. I know it’s hard not to crave the joy of our favorite times of year, but it’s times like these that teach us how strong we are. Resilience is such a hidden strength ❤️
