Just finished this new piece! Swipe to see some progress photos…when I remembered to take them 😆 . (After writing this, I realize this is such a ramble/stream of consciousness lol. But I’m sharing it anyway)

I’ve created forest scenes since I first started needle felting as a representation of life’s continuous journey through the unknown. The terrain changes, but there’s beauty in every curve, every obstacle, and every unexpected test. The light is always shining through the canopy. I have found there’s such clarity in disconnecting from society. From the fast pace, the distractions, the pressure to conform. I don’t think it’s good for our mental health to have our phones constantly available. I know… most jobs and family situations require continuous communication. But…It’s so important to carve out time to find stillness. When you can be alone with your own thoughts and feelings.
Some of my favorite pieces haven’t shown a clear cut path…although sometimes it’s a nice comfort to know you’re on the right one. This time of year, I’m craving those bright summer colors! But you know what, without the ups and downs and the changes of season, I don’t know if we’d appreciate each one as much. Vibrancy is everywhere… in emotions, in music, in our relationships, our expressions of love. I know it’s hard not to crave the joy of our favorite times of year, but it’s times like these that teach us how strong we are. Resilience is such a hidden strength ❤️

Merry Christmas, friends! I hope today is filled with love, joy and peace. However that looks for you! As I get older, I’ve realized how important it is to FIND joy. It doesn’t just show up… we choose to create it and see it. It’s always there! Thank you all for bringing me so much of it this year. I felt it in every conversation, every smile, and even in every tear. Thank you all, so much. Chuck and I can’t wait to see you again at art fairs in 2026, and we are beyond grateful for this life we are blessed with. I want to share what I said in my yoga class this week, for anyone who needs to read this today. And for those of you who don’t know, I’ve been teaching yoga class at my local YMCA for over 10 years haha 😆 It gets me out of the house and away from my felting for a bit lol. Anyway, here you go! ➡️ ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I hope you nurture your soul with positive thoughts and love this week. Speak kindly and intentionally. Find joy in the little things. Move with purpose and passion. Trust that everything is unfolding as it should and don’t worry about making things perfect. Let your inner light guide your thoughts and soften your words.
Remember that the light is never too far away, if we allow ourselves the patience to sit still for long enough to let it find us. Never stop believing that it is right here for you. May this season be a time of sharing what you can with the world. Share your unique perspective, your unique light with others. Not everyone will accept it, and that’s ok. I hope you know that means that nothing is wrong with YOU. Your role is to keep shining authentically, as those who need your light will find it.

My friends, your Light is needed. Carry it with you today as a symbol of your commitment to yourself and your choice to always choose the light even in dark times. 🕯️(I handed out little battery powered candles haha)
Thank you for giving me this opportunity to let my own true light shine in front of you all. Thank you for accepting me as I am, because that heals me as well.
All my Love,
Laura

Ever find yourself thinking too much about the future, and not enjoying where you stand right now? I do. It’s encouraged… praised in the business world… to always think progressively and look ahead for ways to create an ideal outcome. And I get it… we DO have to plan ahead for things. But I know how easy it is to get stuck in that mindset all the time. Personally, I think it’s a combination of things… fear of missing something important, anxiety about what we “should” be doing… the constant need to impress or succeed to feel gratified. And maybe I’m just speaking about myself. I struggle with those exact things. But I am also fully aware of these tendencies, and every year (heck, every week…) I am consciously trying to change them.

I know I’m weird and I do things differently. I don’t follow the rules of social media and post trendy things 😆 So to all my followers, thanks for accepting me as I am. Thanks for being here with me in my own way. I will always be authentically me and you can count on that.
Since Nov 10th, I’ve been taking care of myself physically and given myself permission to slow down. I can see the path, and I love it… I am excited to keep walking forward. But right now? I’m looking up at the trees and taking a deep breath. It’s not easy slowing down, but it’s necessary. This time of year is especially challenging with holidays and shopping and all the expectations that come with that. To become nonexistent on social media during the busiest time of year for a small business? Seems pretty silly. And a month ago, I had plans to make all sorts of things. Then I realized how much my body needed a break. My mind was racing ahead , and my body couldn’t keep up. So I’m grounding my feet and saying “be kind to yourself, Laura”.

I hope you all have a chance to do the same, even for a day. Maybe an afternoon. Maybe just an hour. I hope your mind can be filled with ideas that are exciting… things to look forward to learning, creating, and sharing. It doesn’t all have to happen right now, and it doesn’t have to happen quickly. I’ve cleared my studio for new ideas… and I can’t WAIT to start bringing them to life. But today? I’m just enjoying my homemade banana bread ❤️
