Fun fact: I’ve been strictly a hand building potter since I started working with clay.
I absolutely love hand building and creating one of a kind pieces! One thing I love so much about pottery is all the endless possibilities there are. That being said, I’ve been increasingly more and more curious about throwing. So about a year ago, I took Beale Pottery’s beginners wheel course to try to learn a new skill. Unfortunately, I never really practiced afterwards and lost what little confidence/motivation I had to keep learning how to throw. Whoops…🙈 However, this year I made it one of my goals to get better at the wheel and I signed up for their beginners course once again to relearn the basics! While centering is still a bit of a struggle, I’m happy to say I’m starting to get a better feel for it! I still have some work to do but I am proud of the progress I am making towards my goal! 🥰 Here are the pieces I was able to throw at class last night! Just a reminder to all that you can do hard things if you put your mind to it and stay consistent. Here’s to learning new things! ✨
