Ok guys. I finally get the chance to post this. I'm sorry it took so long, but I was waiting for the time when I could return it and get permission to post photos. This is the repair project that I took on several months ago. Unfortunately I didn't get a before picture because I didn't think I'd be showing anyone else the work. This is a small folding chair created by the grandmother of a very special lady who means the world to my family. It was made probably nearly 90 years ago, and over time had a couple slats broke. In this process I recut new slats, one for the seat and one for the back. I had to relaminate the plywood sides together, and refurbish the fasteners that held it all together. A few screws had to be replaced as they were bent. Once I had the pieces sanded smooth I finished the pieces and then refinished the entire project after reassembly. In order to keep the piece as authentic as possible and respect the piece being something that was handed from 3 to 4 generations ago I reused as much as possible. Thank you, to a grandma who had the skills and wisdom to create this piece well enough and strong enough that I got the chance to help by repairing it now in 2025.
