After 12 months, 99 blocks, and countless stitches, Stars & Stitches: Celebrating 250 Years of America is officially complete!

When I first dreamed up this Block of the Month, I hoped it would become more than just a quilt. I hoped it would tell a story...one block, one stitch, and one state at a time.

Today, on Independence Day, it feels especially meaningful to share the finished quilt while I’m celebrating America’s 250th birthday in Washington, DC, camping with my hubby and soaking in all the patriotic festivities. 🇺🇸🏕️

To everyone who stitched along with me…

Thank you for trusting me with your time, cheering one another on, sharing your progress, and proving that quilting really does bring people together.

Whether you’ve finished your quilt or you’re still working your way through it, remember…

Month 8 of Stars & Stitches BM is here, inspired by snow days, slow moments, and stitching by the fire.

Simple. Soft. Scrappy-friendly.

Happy Valentine’s Day to this beautiful community of makers. I’m so thankful for each of you. 🤍✨

After a week of snow days, frozen gas lines (it got down to 53° in the house 🥶), and tractor trips through 8–12 inches of snow to fetch more firewood… this softer block feels especially fitting.

Simple. Scrappy. Quiet.

A little reminder that progress doesn’t always have to be bold to be meaningful.
On this Valentine’s Day, I’m extra grateful for this stitching community. Thank you for sewing along with me month after month. 🤍

This month we’re stitching two blocks:
• One Framed Block, and
• One Playful Pinwheel Block

I pulled from my scrap bins and let the fabrics lead the way, without overthinking it.

Halfway there! Month 6 of the Stars & Stitches BOM is officially out. 🇺🇸✨

This month’s block is on the simpler side and a quick, relaxing sew. If you’re adding the embroidery, it’s perfect for those little pockets of time, curled up with a holiday movie, sitting by the fire, or enjoying a quiet moment in your day. I planned this one intentionally so December could feel more open for family time, traditions, and all the season’s activities. ❤️❄️🧵

Speaking of winter, I've been so busy that I've not kept up with our local forecast - apparently, we're getting 2-4" by morning 😳. It'll be our first real bit of snow ⛄️. I like to see it and I love the way it sounds outside on the farm with a blanket of snow. It's just so peaceful, you practically hear nothing but the wind, IYKYK

🍂Month 4 is here for the BOM and we’re stitching up the Snowball Block, one of those simple, classic blocks that never gets old. I’m making mine scrappy + using the easy stitch & flip method (my favorite way to do them!).

Don't mind me, I'll be over here embroidering my blocks with some of my favorite American icons like The Statue of Liberty and the Liberty Bell. I can't wait to share with you my progress this month and see what others are creating too. 🗽🇺🇸
