When Spring comes around, I often have clients who ask me "so what are the trends this year ?" I respond by saying that what makes you happy and comfortable in your space should always be the the trend.. but I digress. So this year we have seen a number of themes come to the forefront.
Most specifically, that residential rooms such as living and dining rooms, kitchens, studies, etc. are no longer independant spaces. It is nice to have a cohesion in terms of similar colors, textures and lighting that flow from one to the next. Colors include pastels that are paired with bolder shades to add impact; green, one of my favorite shades to work with is back in favor in it's many lush tones. Earthy hues like terracotta (another of my favorites), plum, chocolate brown are in.
WALLPAPER! Yes wallpaper, a thing that many people are afraid to attempt, but SO lovely when paired correctly with lighting, paint color, etc. Some of my favorite companies are , linktr.ee/Timorousbeasties and others. A wallpaper I will be using soon in a powder room is this.
My own trend is using fun bathroom tiles--why not ?! Pair this fun blue and white with blue and white echos in the shower.
And then fun shapes in furniture--who said things had to be square or round or rectangular... how about this armchair.
Window treatments, an important element that folks tend to sweep under the rug, can also be fun. Here is an example of something I designed recently.
It's Spring, soon to be hot humid Summer, get motivated and add color and life to your space. Always happy to help !
