If you received Mother’s Day flowers, make sure you give them a fresh cut and put them in clean water. Play around with them and have fun. This is one of my favorite stages of tulips 💕 We’re so fortunate to have and growing some of the best varieties available.

We’re officially out of flowers here at the farm and thank you all for all the special orders! We do still have subscriptions available and bouquets are available . Thank you thank you thank you 💕💕
There’s lots of color combos to choose from and like I do with bridal bouquets, I pretty much told each one it was my favorite after it was wrapped. I really loved the lavender blended with the soft yellow and touch of peach and dusty mauve. So pretty! Go grab your fav while supplies last and have a beautiful weekend 😘

I wouldn’t say Mother’s Day snuck up this year, I’ve been busy behind the scenes preparing for sure. We’re harvesting what we’ve got, sourcing from some of our fave local growers and networking with our favorite shops and farmstands to provide you all with the freshest most beautiful blooms around. We’ve launched our subscription (a huge hit amongst mothers) and updated our site. The actual promotion side of things…well, I could do better. Truth is, every time I tell myself I need to be better about social media, I end up getting a tad worse about it. We rely heavily on repeat customers and word of mouth and I can’t tell y’all how much I appreciate you. If you’ve gotten mama one of our bouquets in the past, you know they’re a hit. Want something different this year? How about 6 weeks of flowers? Or even better, 12 weeks of flowers. If you buy one of our subscriptions they start end of June and last through the summer, but this year we’re letting you get the first bouquet to give her this weekend. Give her flowers now and then remind her June through September why you’re her favorite 😘
We’ll have bouquets available for preorder and delivery on our site and for grab and go at various locations around TC and Leelanau County. Check our stories for more info. ♥️✌️

I’ve never loved a dog like I loved this one. Never had that bond until her. Each and every day, some of the first words out of my mouth are, “hey there stinker pup, good morning.” And then when she’d circle through my legs I’d say good morning a few more times. My girl was by my side for almost 9 years now, whether we were inside or out, always together. This is one of the hardest goodbyes I’ve ever had to go through and one that came way too soon.
I keep entering rooms anticipating hearing her tail wag and it’s not there. I’m feeling pretty lost without her. I’m so grateful for the years we had and that she got to spend so much time out here roaming the field like she loved to do. When we lived in a subdivision I could never let her off leash or she was sure to run. I was trying my hardest to train her to stay in the yard, but that nose of hers made it impossible. I remember one morning letting her out (I thought I could trust her) and when I returned to bring her in she was no where to be found. I called for her and a neighbor yelled back “I’ve got Luna” so I walked to find out which neighbor it was. When the lady opened her car door to leave for work in the morning Luna jumped in first. She always loved car rides and begged to go every time I was leaving the house. She got to join me most of the time and I’m so grateful for that. Even when I gardened for others, most didn’t mind if I brought her along. By the time we moved out here she was used to the land and pretty much knew how far she could roam. She loved to greet everyone that came to the farm and howled to let me know someone was there. She quickly became friends with the FedEx and UPS delivery people and knew when she heard the trash can being pulled down the driveway that there’d be a great do her. She made friends with the neighbor dogs and loved having her freedom. When she wasn’t roaming she’d just lay and watch me work. At night she stuck close by and if it got so dark I couldn’t see her, that’s all I’d have to say “I can’t see you” and she’d move closer so I could. She was my best friend. (More in comments)

While gusts of wind blow snow past my window, I’m looking back at what a beautiful growing season we had this year. My phone is loaded with so many pics of different spots in the field, individual blooms, favorite harvests and so on and when I’m searching for a specific photo, some of these just force me to pause and appreciate what we did this season. Most are iPhone shots but there’s a special one caught of my dog Luna and I when she visited for our field shoot. I’ll share more of those later but thought this one was perfect for this post. Time flies and I’m behind on a lot but as the year comes to an end I want to share more of this year with you all. It really was beautiful and deserves to be seen and not just stored on my phone.

I really do love wreath season 💚 Thank you to everyone that has ordered one and those that have attended our workshops. It’s fun for me to get creative with a different medium than flowers and so fun to see you all lean into your creative side. Attendees have called it therapeutic and I couldn’t agree more. We’ve still got lots of greens available and would love to make something special for you or a loved one. Can’t make it home for the holidays? You can always send them something special and made with love in Leelanau.

Want to send a huge thank you to everyone who has supported IndieGrow this year and over the seasons. You have no clue how much it means to us. I was always a driven kid with a million ideas of what I wanted to be and I’ll be honest, this really wasn’t it. I always knew I wanted to be a mom, but the job part changed and changed and changed. Even in college, my major just kept changing. And knowing I wanted to be a mom, I never imagined myself being a stay at home mom. Once I had her though I did not want to be anywhere else but with her. I would literally run out of the office and through the parking garage each day to rush home to her—and I am not a runner. This girl stole my heart.
Now she’s taller than me and I can’t figure out where the time has gone. She’s been my biggest cheerleader and each year helps out more and more. She tags along to help clean up weddings, set up weddings, helps with bud vases, planting, harvesting and sanitizing our buckets. Some times she helps with the wreath workshops. One of these days she should probably take the reins on the social media because I’m sure she’s much better at it than I. It absolutely makes my day when she comes out while I’m harvesting to tell me what a vibe it is out there and how much she loves different parts of the field. This is my girl. And this is us. This is who you’re supporting every time you support this biz. Thank you thank you thank you!!

Are you starting to decorate for Christmas or do you wait until after Thanksgiving? Traditionally I wait. This year though, I don’t know if I can resist. I might just do the tree with lights for a bit and go full blown Christmas when we return from Thanksgiving. I think I’ll tackle the outdoor stuff before the snow gets here too. I’m looking forward to doing something festive with the planters in front of the porch. Let me know if you need any help with your own. Or if you need a wreath for the front door, you know who to call. OR if want to design your own, but need the materials and some guidance, we’ve got workshops coming. First is this Sunday, the others will be in December. Link in bio is updated. ✌️
