Watched the Luther Vandross documentary (“Never Too Much”) on my recent 6-hour flight to Seattle. It was so good that I watched it twice! I learned a lot about Vandross that I didn’t know - especially during the early days of his career. I’ll be listening to his music nonstop once I’m back home, and missing him more than ever!

Hanging out and catching up with Mireille Grangenois, one of my oldest and best friends. Watching Dancing With the Stars. Of course, we needed snacks. Can you guess who had what???

Had a wonderful time visiting Vancouver with . We got a 360-degree view of the city at the Vancouver Lookout, and watched Alaska-bound cruise ships head out. We also saw seaplanes take off from the water in all directions. After I learned we could take a seaplane to Seattle, I was tempted to cancel our train reservations and do that instead. Maybe next time. And no trip to a new city with Kenneth would be complete without a bike tour of some sort. This time it was a three-mile ride around Stanley Park. Stunning views, as was the train ride between Seattle and Vancouver.

I was browsing the Bernhardt showroom at the High Point furniture market in October 2018 when I saw some artwork unlike anything I had ever seen before. The artist was Lisa Hunt and, in the years since, I continued to follow her and enjoy the photos she posted of her latest work while marveling at her vision. I was crushed to learn of her death this week. My condolences to her family and friends. The world has lost a talented and beautiful soul.

When I travel abroad, I like to bring back a momento, something easily packed but meaningful to me. I found this pillowcase in Sydney. The artist is Nora Nyutjangka Davidson, a member of Papulanktja Artists, an Aboriginal-owned nonprofit in Western Australia. While I went to Sydney to attend some FIFA Women’s World Cup matches, I also wanted to view and learn more about Aboriginal art. In the short time I was there, I barely scratched the surface. Still, this pillowcase inspires me to learn more. And I love love the jolt of color that it adds to my living space. ❤️

Furniture shopping in Barcelona for my pied-a-terre. (I wish!) Everyone lives in apartments (or maybe condos), so all the furniture is scaled accordingly. Lots of stylish and smart solutions for small-space living, plus lighting, furniture and accessories that would enhance any residence, no matter the size.
