Took a break from costume making to do something fun 🤩

I got this painting at a thrift store a little over a year ago I of course forgot to take a before picture. It wasn’t that great of a painting but it was still beautiful art with a ton of potential and I just really love the yarn canvas 😍 the texture omg I could rub it aaaalllll day 💜

MartyrFest - Music and Art Festival is over and if you missed it you missed out big time! I lacked taking pics yesterday but I did find this gem of Corey James Burnard wearing one of my hats so that’s super cool!

The music, art, and people was everything a local festival needed 💜 Huge thanks to Kate Rush for taking super good care of the vendors and making yesterday easy for everyone! Hope to be back next year 👋 💚 💜

Jessie’s costume is on her way 🫶🏼🫶🏼

So far this thang is still freehanded and I’m super proud of that one fact alone 😭

The shirt is done minus details I will add at the very end. I did make a split decision while building the sleeves so my daughter will be able to step into the right side of the costume and it’ll button up the left side entirely neck to toe! If I had thought this thru I might’ve put the buttons in the back but we aren’t going back now 💛

Hit a major crochet frustration and to set this to the side over the weekend 😭

So far her entire costume is freehanded ✨
I have the luxury of constantly measuring my toddler while I make this. The yellow yarn is Woobles tshirt yarn it’s very stretchy and was working great. The white yarn is soooo stiff 0 stretch. I had sewed these together realized what happened and had to undo it 🤧

That said I have fixed the problem and the next time you see this shirt it should done ❤️ 💛

My hands are in fact covered with spray paint that won’t come off 😃

I made these swirls today using surface crochet 🧶 which I’ve only done twice before so it’s not perfect but it’ll do 🏅

Step one of making my daughters Halloween costume complete ✅

The hat really gives her character away 🤣

Last year she was Oogie Boogie and the year before she was Raggedy Anne all made by mommy

There’s so many cool things I want to make this time of year but I kinda love setting this time aside for my sweet girl while she is still little ❤️

Come back later to see how I make her hat double as a wig 🫣
