 This is Karley, I picked up Mom from the rehab center on Thursday around 11:45 AM/12 PM because her insurance no longer covered her there for free and it was gonna be a $218 a day fee. Things were going okay, except she was having trouble like getting up because every time she stands up she gets really dizzy and feels like she's gonna pass out. I woke up yesterday morning when I heard her fall she hit her head pretty hard on the window unit air conditioner. I then spent the rest of the day trying to get started. Let me call 911 because I didn't want her to turn away the ambulance if I did, she said she was okay however, later she agreed to let me call 911 since I couldn't get her to the car, cause she was so dizzy she kept feeling like she was gonna pass out. I called the ambulance last night and she was taken to the ER.
Mom's in the hospital they're keeping her at the hospital. The doctor did a ton of test he Xray her chest, checked her heart and did a CT scan of her brain and everything came back good her her brains looked good and he did blood test as well. All of her levels that were bad before were even doubt and good he said like her kidneys looked much better like and so did her anemia. Because before she was really anemic, and now she either wasn't or was at least less, but all of her levels looked good however, both Mom and I talked to him about that every time she stands up she feels really dizzy and she can't even make it like less than you know around 2 feet or less than 3 feet to the bathroom and that I told him I was concerned because I'm afraid to fall asleep we told him that you know, I had fallen asleep and she fell and thank God I heard her and I woke up, but I'm afraid of that if she came home like I'm glad everything was great but I'm afraid that if she came home if I fell asleep, we just ended up right back here. Because we were blessed that you know she didn't hurt herself worse I mean she's hurting but you know her brain is OK thank God and I mean there's a dent on the metal part of the air conditioner where she fell and hit her head I mean, that's how hard she fell and she had lied to me and told me her head didn't hurt because she didn't wanna go to the hospital but she didn't know I wasn't gonna drop it. But now she's being honest about how much pain she's in anyway I told the doctor that we were trying to get home healthcare set up, but when they released her, they didn't have any of that set up and they haven't called us yet that I have been playing phone tag with the social worker from her doctors office and now it's the weekend so there's really nothing I can do until Monday and even then we have to get everything set up so he said it sounds like you know it's a Potential danger to like if I let you go home so I'm he admitted her into the hospital. She's a room 408 that way he said they can also get a social worker from the hospital to come talk to her and maybe we can cause I'm like I'm at least if we can get home healthcare set up that'll be a help. The rehab center was not helpful. She didn't I found out I didn't know cause she didn't tell me, even though I was up there a lot with the exception of the days that I had to stay home because I was working on the house for her coming home and there's still stuff to do, unfortunately, but anyway we couldn't move because I was working on the house but anyway, I found out later that like they didn't really shower her but help her with that that she really only showered when I was there that one time and that was because she had had an accident and I had to get them to help her or help me help her because she was passing out in the bathroom. She couldn't even wipe herself and this is what the rehab center and then she also told me that they didn't do physical therapy and I believe I told you about that where I talked to the director and she was completely like condescending about Mom seizures and dismissive and just looked like shooting Care and I get that they're understaffed and underpaid and they don't have the supplies they need I get that, but I mean you can't put somebody in a chair and in bed dirty and then not shower let them shower. That's how people get infections. And that's how you also get lawsuits on your hands. I mean at least if we can have some help I think I know they won't be here 24 seven or even a lot because sometimes they only come a couple days a week but at least if we could get some help at home and physical therapy coming in to work with her I think we can get like her better but I know she's not gonna get better just laying in a bed. I'm also hoping we can figure out what's going on with her. The doctor didn't seem to know because like I said he had run out all of these tests, but I also know there's things that they can't do. They can't do an MRI so we needed it. I need to get her home so we can get to the neurologist so he can order all the test that the hospital can't or won't order but I mean that's every hospital. I mean we've been to some of the biggest nicest ones in Dallas and they still don't order MRIs or things like that it has to be done by an outside doctor.
I just talked to her. She said the doctor has her in bed because every time she gets up she feels like she's gonna pass out so he has her staying in bed. They gave her hydrocodone for pain and he has her resting. And then hopefully will get some help with the social workers and get home healthcare set up and get her better and get her to the neurologist.
