Early morning thoughts ✨

I don’t normally speak on subjects besides candles on my page. I prefer it that way. However, in the last 24 hours there’s been circulation of a video in the local area that I cannot get out of my head. So I’m going to say my peace.

I worked in the bar industry for 12 years. In that 12 years I seen a lot, dealt with a lot, had some wild s**t said and done to me, but I stuck around until it was my time to go. But I also had some absolutely wonderful experiences: I developed relationships with my customers, listened to so many stories about lives and their trials and tribulations, I was invited to weddings and baby showers, I attended funerals, I made food and delivered groceries to older patrons who couldn’t get out of their house, I gave rides home to people who needed it. And I did that all: as a dramatic woman. Did I cry in the kitchen? Damn right I did. But I also went back out and finished the job too. Did I get overwhelmed? Sure did. Then I came up with solutions and persevered. I saw equally as much drama in the bar/restaurant industry between women AND men alike.

So I’ll have to stick with my opinion this time. Women absolutely belong. And we’re damn good at what we do.

Just wanted to reiterate from the live yesterday: I will not have any store hours this week! I will post next weeks hours on Sunday after I decide when I’ll be open.

This week in West Salem is June Dairy Days. It’s an absolutely fabulous family friendly event that I highly recommend checking out! Come see what downtown West Salem has to offer. Stop at the Le Coulee Cheese Castle for some ice cream or other snacks, you can grab lunch somewhere downtown: Westview, Pizza Villa- West Salem, Whiskey River, and Hunters Bar. Go to Kromes, The Legion or Silverados and grab a drink. If you wanted to check out somewhere to shop: stop at Under the Rust or Orange Thumb!

We have so many great places to visit in downtown West Salem 🤍

Bring your family out to enjoy some rides or the car show and if you wanted some adult fun on Friday night: the live music at the park is always a must. There is also a parade on Saturday!

Decision time.

I love making these and I absolutely love their vibe. They were most popular the first year I made them but honestly I sat on most of them the last 2 years for way longer than I like to. Also: the company I get these oils from are discontinuing these so I’d eventually have to look for substitutes. Not a huge deal but they won’t be the same.

If I make them this year I’d make a very small amount and may not have them going forward.

Are these a must for some of you? I need feedback because my decision making brain is telling me to do one more round and then be done.
