Six months old. Contractor gone. Already falling apart.
A homeowner called me in this week to look at her bathroom, installed just six months ago. She’s not happy with the work, and the contractor is nowhere to be found.
Here’s what I found:
→ Grout already coming loose in a shower that’s barely used
→ The pitch near the drain was done so badly that water puddles instead of draining
Beautiful materials. Handled badly.
After 25 years in this trade, this kind of thing still amazes me. Good tile can’t save a bad installation. The slope, the waterproofing, the prep underneath, that’s what makes a shower last 20 years instead of 6 months.
