Welcome to part 7, polyurethane!

The secret to a long-lasting finish is all in the protection. We’re using a classic, Minwax’s brush-on polyurethane for those high-use areas to ensure durability. We also use their wipe on poly for less used areas that don’t see as much use but still demand solid protection.

Part 5 is here—stain day! 🪵

Our customer wanted their custom sofa table to have a warm, classic red oak tone, so we’re using Minwax Red Oak stain to really bring the grain to life.

Wood needs a little conditioner just like you! We always use prestain conditioner to ensure a smooth and even stain. Stay tuned for P5 of the build!

Sanding isn’t the most fun but is essential! Edges get hand sanded to ensure the grain gets completely smoothed and the roundover stays even.

Today is a special day for two reasons.

First, Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandfathers, and father figures who have shaped our lives, taught us to work with our hands, value quality over convenience, and understand the importance of gathering around the table.

It feels especially fitting to launch Tedder & Timber today.

Tedder & Timber was built on the belief that the things we make should be used, shared, and become part of life’s traditions. Whether it’s preparing a family meal, hosting friends, or celebrating milestones, we hope our pieces become a small part of those moments for years to come.

Today, we’re proud to officially open the shop.

Our founder’s release for all collections—Hearth, Heritage, Heartland, and Heirloom—are now available, each crafted in extremely small batches with an emphasis on quality, timeless design, and the natural beauty of the wood itself.
