Memorial Day weekend is time to reflect on the roots we came from and to remember soldiers past. This is my Gr Gr Uncle Private Frank Palan of Miladore Wisconsin. He served in Company K 4th infantry Regiment 3 rd Division he was a transfer from the 86th Division and does appear in the division history. Before my Gr Aunt passed she gave me one of his dog tags. Another Gr Aunt gave me some photos of him a few years ago i tried recreating that photo with the help of a friend who is a tin type artist. I also own his overseas hat but do wonder where his coat ended up.

Haven’t gotten this out in awhile but it’s still my biggest accomplishment collecting wise. But since I got a dog tag presentation tonight in Winneconnie Wisconsin I got it out. All 50 states World War 2 Next of Kin dog tags. Maybe one of these days I’ll do a live video and just talk about some of the soldiers in this box.

New tag came in a few days ago Private Jacob Hebein Machine Gun Company 1st Wisconsin Infantry. It appears he made it to Texas in 1916 for the punitive expodition but it doesn’t appear he actually went over seas for ww1.
