Six years ago, it started with a blanket.
This blanket, actually. ❤️
Six years ago today, I started a little business called Cozy Creations.
I didn’t have some big master plan for where it would go. I just knew I loved creating things with my hands, and I wanted to see if I could turn that love into something more.
And somehow… here we are.
Over the last six years, this little business has grown and changed right alongside me.
What started with blankets grew into quilts, memory quilts, keepsakes, embroidery, custom apparel, hats, business logos and more projects than I ever could have imagined when I first started.
Somewhere along the way, I stopped being afraid to try something I’d never done before.
Quilting turned into memory quilts and keepsakes. Blankets became bigger and better. Then came embroidery, apparel, hats and business logos—and a whole lot of “I have no idea if I can do this, but I’m going to figure it out.” 😂
And I did.
Not always on the first try. Definitely not always without a few choice words. 😂
Behind every finished piece you see is a whole lot of work you don’t—hours of learning, ripping out stitches, starting over, figuring things out and refusing to quit.
There have been late nights, mistakes, do-overs, machines that didn’t cooperate, projects that tested every ounce of my patience, slow seasons that made me question everything, and busy seasons when I wondered how I was ever going to get it all done.
But there have also been some pretty incredible moments.
I’ve been trusted with clothing belonging to loved ones and asked to turn it into something their families can hold onto forever. I’ve made blankets and gifts for babies, birthdays and special occasions. I’ve created things for schools, local businesses, families and people celebrating some of the biggest moments in their lives.
And after six years, it still means something to me every single time someone chooses me to make something for them.
Earlier this year, I made one of the biggest changes of all.
Cozy Creations became Rustic Stitch.
I’ll admit, changing the name was scary. Cozy Creations was where this all began. It was the name behind years of work, customers, memories and growth.
But the business had grown beyond the name it started with.
Rustic Stitch felt like me.
It felt like the work I create, the direction I was heading and the business I had spent years building.
When I look back at that very first blanket and then look around my studio today, I’m pretty damn proud.
Not because everything has been perfect.
It hasn’t.
I’m proud because I kept going.
I kept learning.
I kept trying things that scared me.
I kept pushing myself creatively.
I kept showing up through the slow seasons, the crazy seasons, the mistakes and the wins.
And six years later, I still get excited when an idea that’s been living in my head finally comes to life in front of me.
So today, more than anything, I just want to say thank you.

Six years of learning.
Six years of growing.
Six years of figuring it out as I went. ❤️
