Hi! I'm Kristi Kautz - a ceramics artist based in the California Mojave Desert, just outside of Joshua Tree. Thanks so much for visiting my page.

I hand-make unique desert-inspired and nature-centric home decor designed to bring the outdoors in! I'm Kristi Kautz - a ceramics artist and 3D interior designer based in the stunning Mojave Desert of California, just outside of Joshua Tree. I'm a HUGE plant lover and get so much joy from surrounding my home and office with my plant babies. My passion for infusing indoor spaces with nature inspire

s much of what I create, whether it's planters, vases, wall planters/vases, air plant holders, or wall hangings made from clay and natural fibers. Been experimenting with layering colored slip over contrasting clay bodies, and I’m kind of obsessed with how much depth it adds. It’s such a different way to think about surface decoration - more matte, more textural, and way more budget-friendly than glazing every inch. These are just test tiles for now, but I’m excited to see how they translate into full pieces. Love when trying something new actually works out!
