Did you know that a loofah, or luffa (the tan, exfoliating, spongy thing you may have in your bathroom), is actually a vegetable in the gourd family?
Yep! They’re not a sea sponge, as one may think

They look quite a bit like a cucumber or zucchini while growing on the vine and can be eaten when they’re young - before they become too fibrous.
I have 3 tiny ones getting started in my garden right now and more flowers getting ready to bloom!

Can’t wait to harvest my very own loofahs and get creative with my soaps!!

I may be a day off on this post, but I still have to celebrate my little ginger kitty boy, Shiro. He’s such a sweet little love, but he WILL NOT CUDDLE with us humans 🥺 He makes up for it in general adorableness though.

My “Orange Shiro” handmade soap is inspired by him, scent and all (ginger, vetiver, and tangerine essential oils) and so is my logo!

Fresh-cut Piña Colada 🥥🍍 handmade soap bars!!
They smell incredible, the yellow ‘pineapple’ swirl is nice and subtle, but it’s definitely there (and hard to capture in this light 😑).
Once they’re cured for another week or so I’ll take better pics to show them off a little 😉

Based off of the requests I’m getting, I will be making a second batch, so there will be a few more available (most are already claimed!!)! ☺️💕💖

On October 5th @ 12:01AM EST, it will be fully cured and available to make some yummy shower experiences from www.sleepingcathandmade.com

A Coconut Oil and Jojoba Oil soap base (no essential oils), scented with Pineapple Juice, Pineapple Rum, Coconut Milk Powder, Coconut Water, and colored with vegan micas!
The only other ingredients are food grade sodium hydroxide (lye), distilled water, pink Himalayan salt and sea salt!
Price on website will be $6.50/bar

I am really enjoying this blend this morning!
In my large (300ml) diffuser:
Ylang Ylang - 3💧
Copaiba - 3💧
Melissa - 2💧
Black Pepper - 2💧

This is a floral, peppery, earthy blend that helps calm and soothe 😌 It is a potent blend, so if you aren’t a big fan of potent floral, skip the Ylang Ylang and add an extra drop of the other oils.

This is my favorite blend for any occasion I feel the need some grounding and uplifting! Our beautiful ombré Orange Shiro soap features this blend.

If you’ve never experienced Vetiver, it is one of my very favorite oils! Vetiver is a grass from India whose roots grow downward (unlike many other grasses) and the essential oil’s scent reflects its rooting in the earth. It is so grounding and relaxing with its woody, earthy aroma 😌

Do you all like this idea?
I’m going to try a thing where I show you all what essential oils I’m diffusing and recommend
different ones or blends for different moods, for instance:
Today in my 400ml diffuser:

Eucalyptus - 6💧
Clementine - 4💧

- These oils can help calm the mind and body, along with enhancing your mood. They are also cleansing oils, so the blend acts as a natural air purifier! 😌

All of my soaps have blends of doTerra oils, and with aromatherapy, every oil has its own properties and uses. I thoughtfully blend essential oils for my soaps and my personal daily diffusing needs.
