It's been awhile...
2026 has been quite the year.
In January I was diagnosed with cervical cancer and opted for a total hysterectomy in March. It was not something I had on my bingo card ever - nevermind at 36 years old.
I am so so fortunate to have been screened early and my surgery was curative.
But.
It changed me.
Or more accurately, it set me free.
It melted all these false layers I had fashioned over the years to survive in a world I don't quite fit into, and revealed this wild being beneath.
I started painting more, like a lot more.
I threw a wish to the wind for guidance out into the universe; asking what next?
How do I do more?
Who am I here to help??
The universe called back one evening a month or so ago; a sickly raccoon in our neighborhood who needed saving.
I sat with him for hours while we contacted a local rescue line and they sent us a rescue hero.
He contained the raccoon and I took the lil fella to a wildlife rehabilitation facility a few hours away.
While there I learned quickly that they needed more help, everywhere.
I contacted our rescue hero and have since been working on the front lines with raccoon rescue, rehab and release.
My heart rides a daily roller-coaster of grateful highs and aching lows.
I've met some of the most beautiful souls in both humans and behind bandit masks of fur.
They need our help.
My art has become something so much more.
It is my soul on canvas, pleading for aid for those truly in need of us all.
I hope you'll follow me along this new journey; into wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.
But also into the art of becoming Earthkeepers...
