Five Little Stones:
One day on my way to work, I saw a billboard/advertisement that said something along the lines of a Five Stones Bible Study. Since that day, I have continuously thought about the Biblical significance of Five Stones. So much so, that I created a note on my phone labeled Five Stones. A note that remained empty for months until just the other day. Below you will find what I have gathered, mostly from 1 Samuel 17 with David and Goliath.
- Always trust God and don’t be afraid of the battle.
- Whether it took one stone or five, David recognized that the power was not in his sling but in the Lord of hosts.
- 5 = associated with divine grace and favor
- Obedience, Faith, Courage, Trust, Praise (5)
- Duty, Prayer, Humility, Effort, Courage (5)
- By choosing five stones, David may have been expressing his trust in God’s grace and favor, believing that with divine assistance, he could overcome any obstacle, no matter how hopeless it seemed.
- Reminder to us that with faith in God, we can overcome any giants in our own lives.
- David’s choice of five stones was a mix of practicality, symbolism, and strategic thinking. It showed his trust in God, his skills as a shepherd, and his readiness to face any challenges. It’s a story of courage, faith, and the power of God working through little David.
- What did the Lord tell Paul with the thorn? My grace is sufficient. Meaning it's more than enough. David had five stones (grace) but only needed 1, metaphorically showing that God's grace is sufficient.
Hence the new name of the page, Five Little Stones. “God’s grace is sufficient” 🙌🏼.
