As promised, a brand “new” chest of drawers is up for grabs! 🤍 commissions are fun, but for me, there’s nothing like having that creative freedom to do whatever. I hope yens like this look. 🤠 kinda Anthropologie inspired, kinda just obsessed with checkered print things.

🎨 im going to yap about colors for a moment 🎨
Particularly the color white. 🤍 I’ve been working on redoing this hutch (again hehe surprise I wanted something more Pottery Barn-ish) and as you can see the inside of the hutch is white. It looks pretty crispy white, right? Well, if you swipe to the second photo you’ll see this shade of white compared to plain ole white. This is where you REALLY can see the hue and undertones come out in this shade of white. I was honestly shocked by how different this shade looked considering I’ve been working with this color the past few days.

Why is this import? Well, have you ever painted something white or gotten a white piece of furniture, decor, whatever it may be and it just looks … weird? It makes every other color look different or it stands out too much? I’ve been there. I made a rookie mistake a few years ago when painting my bathroom with a board and batten combo, and I had to go running right back to Lowe’s with my paint samples and start comparing shades of white. Most popular whites have beige or gray undertones. If your home consist of gray hues, I would recommend a white that has a cooler shade (gray or blue) undertone, and if your home is more beige or neutral then I would recommend a warmer (beige or yellow) white.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND comparing paint samples. Sometimes I’ve been lucky, and the more I do this stuff the easier it can be but I have learned my lesson many times and had to repaint because of my lack of patience. Go. Compare. Paint. Colors. That’s why they are there in the store. That’s why you get free ones…

So long story short, men, if your woman is yapping about white color samples let her be. She’s actually doing the right thing, and trying to prevent you both from running back out to Lowe’s or Home Depot and dropping another $60 on a gallon of paint. 😇💸
My next long winded post about colors might be on the color gray. There can be a lot of controversy on this color looking blue or purple if the right shade is not chosen… as a matter of fact, my parents have a bathroom that my dad swears is gray and my mom sees purple. 😂

On another note:
I’m finally back in office and will be picking back up on commissions this week. 😇 You guys are so wonderful and patient with me and I appreciate you all so much. I don’t feel the need to explain myself, but I do want to be transparent. A week or so before I left, I was dealing with having to replace my washer and dryer after a lengthy battle of trying to get my old dryer fixed. I unfortunately just had to bite the bullet and throw it out. Life has thrown a few other curve balls and it has put me behind more than I wanted to be. My recent vacation was a little unplanned, but turned out to be a great getaway with my dad. What was supposed to be a business trip turned into a road trip from Denver all the way to Las Vegas seeing everything we could in between. 🏔️🗻🏜️ Our plane tickets had already been purchased and 9 days before my training I received notice that it was cancelled. I stressed so bad about being behind with furniture, taking a vacation that wasn’t planned, spending money that wasn’t budgeted for, and what I was going to do. I told my dad we would have never been able to experience the things we did together if it weren’t for my training being canceled. We made life long memories together that we will talk about for years to come. With all that being said, when life gives you lemons, make the sweetest lemonade you possibly can. 🫶🏼
