The journey started for personal use and expanded to gifts for friends and family and grew from there.

I started pottery a few months ago, and it’s been an incredible joy. This specific project lived in my brain for quite a while before the hand built air dry prototypes (last photo) were turned into true fired clay and glaze creations. I’m so proud of and excited about them. I’ll have a few available at LavenderFest this weekend at The Lavender Cottage & Garden, and am consistently making more! Hopefully I’ll eventually have enough to post on the website, but I also bring them to my Thursday markets at the Sautee Nacoochee Center. I also had fun 3D printing a stamp I made using my hand drawn maker’s mark!

My first ever bear tallow soap! Locally sourced by a friend here in northeast Georgia, and I think I actually like the way the bear tallow feels on my skin better than the beef tallow. 🫣 because this soap will be a gift, a few girlfriends ( , .j.adventures , ) got to help choose the scent, so we’ve got blood orange and eucalyptus essential oils, and it’s colored with alkanet root powder. I’m so pleased with how this turned out and can’t wait to try some more bear tallow recipes!
