For six years, this kitchen lived inside my head & my heart. For six years, we saved & planned & then finally my uncle & his talented crew made every dream come true. In all honesty, there are days I still cannot believe it happened. I know there are a lot of new faces around here so I wanted to show y’all where we started! Im so glad you’re here, as a brief introduction, we are a former military family who finally settled in Southern Alabama. We bought an old fixer upper & have been slowly bringing her back to life! I hope you enjoy following along as we’ve still so much to tackle. Thanks again for being here & happy Monday! 🩵Emily

The day the range hood went in is the day the kitchen truly came together. It was such a sigh of relief followed by the happiest of happy dances! Even a few months later, I am still pinching myself!

Last summer, I went to the the most questionable estate sale. What was so questionable you ask? Well, the home had sat abandoned for a few years. There was no electricity & it gave a very distinct Grey Gardens vibe. I almost chickened out when I reached the front door and realized it had been kicked in at some point. However, I had made it that far & my curiosity overpowered my trepidation. So inside I went. Immediately, I could tell at some point this home had been truly something. Making the original Grey Gardens vibes even stronger. Many items were broken or just too dirty for my liking. With my shoes sticking to the floor I made it into what appeared to be a bedroom & to my shock I came face to face with the clock I knew would be the finishing touch to my not yet built kitchen. I scooped her up for a mere $65 and left never looking back. I did have to scrub her down & left her out in the sun for a day as she was covered in decades of dust & cat hair 🫣. However, this January when I was finally able to put her in our new kitchen it was a proud full circle moment. I hope she enjoys her new life with us!
