I’m a huge advocate of re-purposing your existing furniture when styles change, rather than buying brand new. Furniture is expensive (and not made like it used to be). This piece is the perfect example: my client had a sturdy cabinet but it was very shabby chic (perhaps more on the shabby side), but structurally, it was solid. Repainted a clean black and updated gold hardware and it’s brand new-for a fraction of the cost of brand new!
