A year ago this started!
I honestly wished we did this year's ago and have no regrets. It's made such a difference to our home life.

Would I do anything different?

🌿 I'd not plant Buxus - I've fought box blight all year. Go straight for ilex Crenata, it looks identical but disease free!

🌿 If you can, hold some money back for planting, this is where the real impact is made! We put aside 10%.
🌿 Be prepared to doubt all your decisions 🤣

🌿 If you're using a firm, trust your gut instinct. We had hurdles along the way but had the best team around us. Nothing was too much trouble.

🌿 Get samples! We used spilt face tiles on the walls and nearly every company has a different shade of Oyster - trust me, they all look different!

🌿 You'll never be inside! Nothing beats that morning brew in a beautiful space, it does wonders for the soul

🌿 Hardstanding, you don't need as much as you think. Add as much soft landscaping as you can.

🌿 Enjoy the planning! It's all worth it 👌

Literally need to get blood out of a stone 🫠.

The new Limestone has sadly become marked with blood due to our dogs poorly paw.

We maybe should have sealed the Limestone as soon as it was laid but lesson learned. Any advice? I'll be so grateful!

We didn't go for bi-folds but went for hardwood doors...these were done before the garden renovation started! Happy to share the price on these as a comparison!

The reality of a garden renovation!
First of all...no judgement please 🤣

Second - I think we need to be more truthful! We see beautiful images online but remember, it's only a snapshot and the reality is likely very different. I want this account to be honest and for people to feel welcome in our less than perfect homes 🙌

As much I love the garden, its highlighted how crap the rest of the garden is 😬

Plan for 2026 as cheaply as possible 🤜🤛

Dining or lounging?

One minute I think dining as it backs onto the kitchen and that's what grown ups do and the next I can imagine a morning brew ☕️ here on a lounge set like a proper functioning adult.

Its sunny in this area until 3/4pm in the summer...if that makes a difference 😅.
