Mamelodi Social Market (MSM) is an event/project made up of young entrepreneurs in Mamelodi who are passionate about addressing lifestyle changes and promoting activities that boost the ecomony of the township and its people. Aspiring entrepreneurs will be invited to set up stalls in order to sell merchandise, food and other items. The event is about Lifestyle, entrepreneurship and a celebration o
f Mams’ culture, and it’s vibrant people which is aimed at promoting community cohesion values as well as economic activities in Mamelodi and surrounding areas. The event will happen twice every month with the first one on the 28th of October 2017 at a previously abandoned heritage site in Mamelodi called ‘The Rondavels’, where the public will enjoy a host of activities including fashion shows, live entertainment, board games, fine art, as well as food and beverages. Mamelodi Social Market also aims to educate the community about the heritage of Mamelodi as well as celebrating of unsung heroes and part of the day proceeds of the event will be donated to a chosen organisation that focuses on uplifting the community.
